Chapter 1: The Nature of Morality

In a world often shrouded in darkness, we possess the power to generate moral illumination.

Roaring Rivers

Torrents, currents, and ripples by Christyl Rivers, PhD.

The gifts of goodness bestowed upon us from above.

Tomorrow, I will delve into the connection between climate change and humanity. Our Milky Way exists within an immense void, with the nearest galaxy being hundreds of millions of light-years away. Yet, we are capable of perceiving light.

With our instincts, tools, and intellect, we actively gather this light. We might even bring Suni and Butch back from the International Space Station, but this can only happen if individuals begin to value knowledge that empowers our hearts.

Section 1.1: Understanding Morality

Let’s explore the concept of morality and our understanding of it.

Morality, as many people intuitively grasp, is more closely linked to the amount of suffering we permit than to sexuality or any specific regulations from the thousands of religions and customs we’ve developed.

Similar to many animals, humans possess an inherent sense of fairness, which is amplified by our ability to create abstractions, utilize language, and share narratives. Our social nature and tendency to judge play significant roles here.

It’s noteworthy that the term “mental” resides within the word “judgmental.” We are profoundly intellectual beings, and a substantial aspect of our intellect is indeed judgmental.

However, we are also organic beings reliant on biological systems. Deep down, we understand that cruelty is fundamentally wrong.

The only immorality we truly embody is the cruelty we inflict. We’ve constructed systems of racism, sexism, and classism. Through our ability to create narratives, we’ve often prioritized human needs over the requirements of other life forms that sustain our existence. In these involuntary “choices,” we’ve made judgments rooted in a misguided sense of superiority.

Neglect can evolve into indifference, and ultimately, cruelty.

Subsection 1.1.1: Morality and Our Environment

Morality extends to our responsibilities toward our Earthly family and community.

The rising temperatures on our planet and our treatment of fellow beings as expendable have dulled our sense of morality and awareness.

If divinity exists within us, it manifests as life itself. On this planet, life thrives primarily through the act of breathing. Our salvation doesn’t hinge on an external figure, but rather on our recognition of belonging to this singular home where consciousness has developed an awareness of our small blue planet traversing through a comparably tiny galaxy.

If we regard all Creation as divine, we can discover our place within it.

While comprehending divinity may elude us, we can grasp the significance of kindness, which nurtures all forms of life here.

Section 1.2: The Cosmic Perspective

Consider this: Our Earth travels at 100 kilometers per second towards Andromeda, resembling a minuscule living entity in an expansive ocean. In about the same duration it took to form this world—approximately four billion years—we may encounter the inhabitants of Andromeda (if they exist).

We are still nascent in our existence, and our understanding has not fully evolved. However, Creation has been in motion for eons. We are merely taking our initial steps into consciousness and moral understanding.

What’s remarkable is our ability to comprehend this now. We have the intellectual capacity to reconnect and acknowledge when we stray from morality. In essence, humanity can learn from its transgressions.

What we can acquire from this is appreciation, reconciliation, and active participation.

Chapter 2: The Healing Power of the Mind

The first video titled "How Your Mind Can Heal Your Body - with Jo Marchant" explores the profound connection between our mental state and physical health. It discusses how our thoughts and beliefs can influence our healing processes, underscoring the significance of a positive mindset.

The second video, "Use Your Mind To HEAL THE BODY & Boost Your IMMUNE SYSTEM!" featuring Joe Dispenza and Mark Hyman, delves into techniques to harness the power of the mind to enhance physical well-being and strengthen the immune system. It emphasizes the transformative potential of mental focus and intention.
