Just remember to tune in to your body and avoid pushing through any pain. This journey is all about long-term health!
- Thread the Needle (Mobility)
Application: 8–10 reps per side
Cues: Start in a quadruped position with the foam roller beside you. As you rotate down, use the roller to gradually extend your range of motion through the thoracic spine. This exercise promotes enhanced mobility in this critical area.
- Serratus Wall Sliders
Application: 15–20 reps
Cues: Find a clear wall space and position the roller against it while holding it steady with your hands. Separate your shoulder blades and slowly raise your arms, allowing the roller to slide down your forearms with control. This exercise challenges your balance and helps maintain alignment.
- Thoracic Extension
Application: 8–10 reps
Cues: Start on your knees with the foam roller positioned at mid-forearm height. Set your hips back while extending your arms forward. This exercise utilizes the roller to enhance your mobility experience.
- Wall-Assisted Squats
Application: 10–15 reps
Cues: Place the foam roller on your mid to lower back, ensuring there's room as you descend into your squat. This technique allows you to concentrate on working your legs while reducing the focus on mobility.
- Single-Leg Romanian Deadlift (RDL)
Application: 8–10 reps per side
Cues: Stand on one leg, placing the foam roller between your free foot and your hand. Hinge back into an RDL, allowing the roller to stabilize and guide your movement. With practice, this support will help you achieve a greater depth in your hip hinges, enhancing mobility in your back and hips.
